The first ten pages of the book and plates 2-7 concern Seychelles including two views (Coetivy and Seychelles) and four drawings of the Cocotier de Mer from Praslin. This is the account of a voyage from Ile de France (Mauritius) to the East Indies and return by the renowned French naturalist. Sonnerat’s godfather was Pierre Poivre who made such distinctive naturalist contributions to 18th century Mauritius and Seychelles. $6,250
